Gresik, East Java – Xinyi Glass Holdings Limited, a major company from China, is expanding its investment in Indonesia through its two subsidiaries, Xinyi Glass and Xinyi Solar, located in the Java Integrated Industrial and Ports Estate (JIIPE) Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Gresik. The presence of these two entities further strengthens the renewable energy downstream ecosystem in Indonesia, particularly in the glass and solar panel sectors.
Initially, Xinyi Glass acquired 38 hectares of land in JIIPE to establish its glass production facility. Over time, Xinyi Solar also expanded its investment by acquiring 61 hectares of land to build a solar panel factory, scheduled for completion by the end of 2025. This facility will produce specialized glass for solar panels, making JIIPE a key hub for the downstream solar energy ecosystem in Indonesia.
With Xinyi Glass focused on producing high-quality glass and Xinyi Solar on solar panel glass, JIIPE is now playing an important role in building a renewable energy downstream ecosystem. This initiative will enable the production of solar energy raw materials domestically, reducing reliance on imports and promoting a more self-sustained energy transition.
JIIPE continues to attract both local and international investors who recognize the potential of this area with its integrated infrastructure and efficient connectivity between industrial and port areas, enabling faster and more effective product distribution.
Supported by high-quality infrastructure, Xinyi Glass and Xinyi Solar benefit from direct access to ports and a robust transportation network. This allows them to scale up production efficiently, positioning JIIPE as a key player in the global supply chain for the glass and solar panel industries.
Xinyi Glass Holdings Limited's investment in KEK Gresik - JIIPE positively impacts both local and national economies by creating job opportunities and facilitating technology transfer to support growth in the renewable energy sector. This aligns with the government’s efforts to advance industrial downstream processing and create an ecosystem that supports energy sustainability in Indonesia.
The presence of Xinyi Glass and Xinyi Solar in JIIPE strengthens Indonesia's position as a hub for green industry in Southeast Asia, with modern infrastructure and policies that facilitate renewable energy development. JIIPE remains the top choice for investors supporting green economic growth and energy sustainability in the region.
