PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (AKRA) is focusing on completing the expansion of the port facilities for the Java Integrated Industrial Port Estate (JIIPE) industrial area in Gresik. The company posted an increase in net profit of 17.7% to Rp 665 billion in the third quarter of 2020, compared to the same period last year of Rp 565 billion.
The company continues to work with strategic partners and also government authorities to improve connectivity and complete the expansion of port facilities in the JIIPE Industrial Estate, President Director of AKR Corporindo Haryanto Adikoesoemo explained. This is intended to improve the ease of doing business.
For information, JIIPE is a project designed to become one of the largest industrial, residential and deep sea port areas integrated with a development area of 2,933.3 ha. This project through PT Berkah Kawasan Manyar Sejahtera (BKMS) will develop industrial estates, while PT Berlian Manyar Sejahtera (BMS) as its sister company will handle sea port operations and PT AKR Land Development (an affiliate of AKR) will develop residential areas. AKR indirectly owns 60% of the company through UEPN, while Pelindo III indirectly owns 40% through BJTI.
East Java Industrial Estate JIIPE is the largest industrial estate in East Java as well as the first integrated industrial estate in Indonesia which has been equipped with ports and docks for yachts and housing with an environmentally friendly industrial area, named GEM City, with various exclusive facilities, such as golf courses and shopping centers within the industrial estate.
