PT AKR Corporindo Tbk. welcomes the government's support for making the Java Integrated Industrial and Port Estate (JIIPE) in Gresik, East Java, a Special Economic Zone (KEK).
The Director of AKR Corporindo said that JIIPE in Gresik is a valuable asset in increasing economic value through investment and opening new jobs.
In order to encourage entrepreneurs and capital owners to invest in JIIPE, the development management and management of the JIIPE industrial area, namely PT Berkah Kawasan Manyar Sejahtera which consists of PT AKR Corporindo Tbk. and PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III also proposed its area as a Technology and Manufacturing SEZ.
The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) visited JIIPE Gresik and checked the problems with the mineral downstream project during the pandemic there. PT Freeport Indonesia is building a refining facility or smelter in the JIIPE industrial area.
BMKS President Director Bambang Soetiono said that JIIPE is the first integrated area in Indonesia with a total area of 3,000 ha, consisting of industrial areas, multipurpose ports, commercial and residential areas.
Apart from Freeport Indonesia, PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk. and PT Pangan Sari Utama Food Distribution has already entered JIIPE Gresik. This year AKR Corporindo targets land sales in JIIPE to reach 30 hectares. This target could be increased according to the request of the prospective buyer. Direct investment growth will raise demand for land in industrial areas. Therefore, he believes that the contribution of this business line will grow throughout 2020.
East Java Industrial Estate JIIPE is the largest industrial estate in East Java as well as the first integrated industrial estate in Indonesia which has been equipped with ports and docks for yachts and housing with an environmentally friendly industrial area, named GEM City, with various exclusive facilities, such as golf courses and shopping centers within the industrial estate.
