The existence of four large industrial estate investment projects owned by Pelindo III, ensures that investment activities of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) or Pelindo III continue to run amid the corona virus pandemic. The project is also intended to anticipate unemployment due to project cessation and is carried out with a very strict Covid-19 handling protocol in the industrial estate.
Pelindo III Managing Director Doso Agung said, the company selected carefully and closely, industrial estate projects in Pelindo III that had to be stopped due to a pandemic, where projects could continue to run to avoid widespread unemployment.
Investments and ongoing projects are:
1) The maritime tourism project in Bali, the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH), is targeted to provide integrated facilities and infrastructure at the Benoa Port, thereby further strengthening Bali's tourism sector as a whole.
2) Another ongoing project is the Gilimas Terminal on the island of Lombok, NTB, which is a terminal for cruising ships built to support the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK) which is prepared as a leading tourism area on Lombok Island, NTB.
3) The next project that is underway is the construction of the NTT Labuan Bajo Multipurpose Terminal, which is the first logistics special port in the Labuan Bajo area.
Meanwhile, the role of Pelindo III in maintaining national energy security, especially LNG supply for the province of East Java, is currently also being worked on with PT PGN in the Teluk Lamong Terminal (TTL) and has reached 90 percent progress.
