JAKARTA - The existence of industrial estates cannot be separated from the existence of a stable, sustainable and affordable energy supply. To realize this, Friday (12/13) in Jakarta, PT Pertagas Niaga (PTGN) signed a Head of Agreement (HoA) with Java Integrated Industrial and Port Estate (JIIPE). The Mega Industrial Integrated Project in a total area of 3000 hectares in the Gresik region, East Java, will become a strategic HUB in Indonesia and the Asia Pacific region, developed by PT Pelindo 3 and PT AKR Corporindo Tbk.
The signing of the HoA in order to supply natural gas energy to meet the needs of this industry was carried out by PT Pertagas Niaga President Director Linda Sunarti with PT AKR Corporindo Tbk Director Bambang Soetiono.
In this HoA, PTGN plans to supply 40 MMSCFD of gas to the JIIPE area in 2021. This is in line with the flow of gas from PT Pertamina EP Cepu's Jambaran Field and the connection of the PT Pertamina Gas transmission line in Gresik-Semarang and the distribution pipeline to the Pertamina in the JIIPE region.
"With the signing of this HoA, PTGN will immediately utilize gas from upstream and later be able to provide energy supply guarantees for the JIIPE Industrial Estate in Gresik," Linda said on the sidelines of the HoA signing event.
The same thing was said by Bambang Soetino. "We are very optimistic that this cooperation will attract investors to come to JIIPE. Because besides port facilities and strategic locations, JIIPE also has a reliable and sustainable gas energy supply, "explained Bambang Soetiono.
The supply of natural gas through gas pipeline infrastructure is a source of energy that is expected by the industry because the price is relatively cheaper when compared to other energy sources. In the end it was able to reduce production costs and the selling price of the industry on the market. * PTGN
