East Java is considered the most promising export-oriented industrial base in the eastern part of Indonesia. This is because the economy in East Java is strongly supported by the industrial sector, especially the industrial estate.
One of the industrial estates in East Java is Kawasan Industri Surabaya Gresik JIIPE. Kawasan Industri Surabaya Gresik JIIPE is the largest industrial estate in East Java as well as the first integrated industrial area in Indonesia which has been equipped with ports and docks for cruise ships, as well as an environmentally friendly independent city concept, named GEM City, with various exclusive facilities, such as the field golf and shopping center.
According to the Head of the Modla Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Bahlil Lahadalia, Kawasan Industri Surabaya Gresik JIIPE is the most potential industrial estate in East Java related to the development of export-oriented industries.
Bahlil believes that Kawasan Industri Surabaya Gresik JIIPE already has various supporting facilities that make it an ideal host for investors and business people. Nevertheless, Bahlil also suggested Kawasan Industri Surabaya Gresik JIIPE to make improvements in the licensing field in order to provide the best facilities and services for prospective investors.
