Polemic on KEK Submission in the East Java Industrial Zone JIIPE Following the implementation of the process of filing the formation of SEZs or Speci

Following the implementation of the process of filing the formation of SEZs or Special Economic Zones in the East Java Industrial Zone of JIIPE to the government, differences of understanding and rejection occurred among the community.

Even though KEK in the East Java Industrial Estate is in line with the government's long-term plan to encourage national economic growth, the people actually have very contradictory views. The community is of the opinion that the establishment of KEK in the East Java Industrial Zone of JIIPE will reduce the availability of jobs.

In this regard, KEK in the East Java Industrial Zone of JIIPE was basically formed with the aim of optimizing the performance of an area which consists of integrated industry and trade activities. KEK in the East Java Industrial Zone of JIIPE will not hamper employment, but rather maximize it.

East Java Industrial Zone of JIIPE itself is the largest industrial estate in East Java as well as the first integrated industrial area in Indonesia which has been equipped with ports and docks for yachts and housing with the concept of an environmentally friendly independent city, named GEM City, with various exclusive facilities, such as golf courses and shopping centers.
