Industrial estate is certainly the center of all production and distribution of business actors. In order to maintain a smooth industrial activity, the industrial area must be equipped with supporting facilities that maintain the comfort and security of the tenants in it, one of which is an anti-flood guarantee.
Several years ago, a Navakorn industrial area in Thailand had to be evacuated due to rising water levels which caused flooding. This happened because the embankment in the industrial area had broken down due to heavy rain that continued to occur, so that the water flowed into the factories there. Floods that hit the industrial area certainly caused a lot of losses and hampered all industrial activities in it.
In this case, dykes that are useful for preventing flooding are very crucial aspects for industrial estates. Not just being built, a dike must really be able to protect the industrial area from flood water flow.
In Indonesia, an industrial area that has been equipped with an anti-flood embankment is the JIIPE Industrial Estate in Gresik. There are several dykes with a height of 4.5 to 6 meters with a total length of up to 30 km built in the JIIPE Industrial Estate. The embankments are designed to make JIIPE Industrial Park free from flooding for 100 years. In addition, dykes in the JIIPE Industrial Estate are also made in such a way as to be environmental friendly.
