Submission of the establishment of a Special Economic Zone (KEK) in the East Java Industrial Zone JIIPE is ongoing. If the proposal is later accepted, the East Java Industrial Zone JIIPE as KEK is able to carry out economic functions and obtain certain facilities.

Related to the establishment of SEZs in JIIPE East Java Industrial Estates, the main reason behind this is that the level of logistics productivity in East Java JIIPE Industrial Estates is very good. This is the basis for the plan of the central government to make East Java Industrial Estate JIIPE as a KEK.

In welcoming the formation of KEK, JIIPE's East Java Industrial Estate is also constantly improving itself, one of which is by optimizing the performance of ports which are port service providers in JIIPE East Java Industrial Estate and Manyar region, Gresik Regency.
