JIIPE Gresik SEZ will significantly contribute to reducing the delivery of waste volume to landfills with a self-management process carried out in the 3R area, namely sorting and rinsing of waste. This is part of JIIPE Gresik Special Economic Zone's commitment as the area manager to making a meaningful contribution to waste management.
While the air quality in Gresik is not yet dangerous, preventative action is necessary, and we sincerely hope that cooperation will continue in the future, where the current condition of the Ngimpi landfill has exceeded the capacity limit, DLH hopes that JIIPE Gresik SEZ area can carry out management and help reduce waste shipments to the landfill" said Syamsul Arifin.
The 3R stage of trash separation is a part of a larger waste management strategy that emphasizes reduction, reuse, and recycling. Reduce landfill trash and promote environmental sustainability as the primary objectives of this strategy.
The maggot (fly larvae) cultivation zone, which will be used for organic waste management, was introduced by the Head of Technical and Safety Husein Latief, and the Head of SHE Zainul Arifin. Maggots can be used to make nutrient-rich compost or as food for fish, fowl, or reptiles, all of which benefit from the recycling of organic waste.
At the same time, the Sedekah Sampah initiative was started to promote the responsible disposal of inert materials; the term "Sedekah Sampah" refers to the beneficial custom of distributing usable garbage to those in need. JIIPE Gresik SEZ 3R region also contributes to this combination step. Supporting the program, encouraging greater waste segregation, and helping those in need are all made possible as a result.
The improvements in outcomes in waste management, need to be promoted and supported in the separation of garbage with the 3R approach. By adopting this strategy, we may lessen trash's destructive effects on nature and put it to better use.
